Floriani Event
One of Floriani's enthusiastic National Education Coordinators, joins us biannually to educate, inform, and entertain. She is a font of knowledge for anything embroidery or quilting. Learn to Quilt Star Crossed Bed Runner

Take this opportunity to join the exciting world of quilting. Learn the basics - fabric preparation, cutting, piecing and more. Create thi unique faux braid runner with simple blocks. Finished size is 30" x 88 1/2".

What's in this bag? Whatever you want. Our sewing artist, Susanne, has designed an eye catching bag that you can individualize in many, many ways. Use new or repurposed fabric - recycled jeans, quilting, upholstery fabric, corduroy. Take a pocket from a jacket or a shirt. Embellish by machine or by hand. Let your creative self go - the only limit is your imagination. Suitable for intermediate sewers and beyond.

Memory Pillow
One evening session 6 - 9 pm
Give a cherished item a new life. Take all or parts of the garment(s) to make a pillow cover. It might be a child's favourite blanket, a souvenir T shirt or a piece of clothing from a loved one. The possibilities are endless. Learn techniques to take your treasure from storage to a prominent spot in your home.

Swim Suit

Are you dreaming of a winter vacation or summer heat? We're offering a swimsuit class to help you get ready. It can be a challenge to find a swimsuit that fits...if it fits at the bust, it's too tight around the tummy. Or even worse, it's too short through the torso. This class focuses on fit and construction techniques. Once the pattern is fitted you will have a customized pattern that can be used to make style changes or adapt other patterns. You will make one suit in class, either a one piece or a tankini. Noreen has a wonderful selection of top quality designer fabrics from which to make you choice.
You must have completed Boob Camp, the basic bra making class before taking this class and have a bra pattern that fits you currently. If your basic bra pattern no longer fits you, Noreen is available to fit you and get you set for the class.

Pfaff Ambition, Expression and Performance Owner's Class
One evening session 6 - 9 pm

Learn about the many facets of your machine. This hands on class will take you from maintenance through the basics of your machine. You'll have a tour through buttonhole options and learn all the tie on/tie off variations. Combine alphabet and designs, practice with the maxi stitches and try your hand at free motion. Do more than you could imagine. Kathy will take you beyond the book.

Janome Skyline, 8200, 8900 and 9400 Owner's Class

Discover how to make the most of your Janome Skyline, 8200, 8900, or 9400. There are tons of little tricks to learn that will help you utilize your machine better and more efficiently. Included are cleaning and maintenance of your machine, free motion, needle positions, menu function, buttonhole making, button sewing, and much, much more. Bernina 7 Series Owner's Class

Congratulations, you've bought a Bernina or maybe you are thinking about it. Now it's time to see what your machine can do. Learn the basics like cleaning and maintenance and how easy it is to navigate the screen. You can adjust everything and we'll show you how. Try the Bernina Stitch Regulator, the built in dual feed system and the stellar Bernina feet. There's much more in store for you so come join us.

Sew Together Bag
One evenng session 6 - 9 pm
Is it time for you to learn to sew? Not sure if it's for you? Do you need help getting started with your sewing machine Christmas present? Take our 3 hour tour and find out how much fun sewing can be and how much you can accomplish in a short time. The project is a lined denim bag. You'll learn a bit about the workings of a sewing machine while sewing this bag and you'll even put in a zipper. No experience necessary. Come for an interesting evening and go home with a denim bag. Your friends will ask you where you got it and you can say "I made it myself". If you have a sewing machine, we recommend you bring it, or you can use our classroom machines.

Sew Together Bag
2 sessions 6 - 9 pm
Come have the pleasure of sewing together. You'll make a clever little bag with three zippered pockets, four open pockets and other features that allow you to hold all your sewing supplies for classes and retreats. It will amaze you how much you can put in this fun and compact bag.

Summer "Class"

As the weather heats up, you'll be cool in your versatile sheath dress. Simplicity is the appeal of this sleeveless, collarless, semi-fitted classic. Learn how to shape with darts and how to insert an invisible zipper. Choose from our pattern suggestions or pick your own. Dress it up or down and wear it with pride because you made it yourself.

Summer Dress

What better way to enjoy a beautiful summer day than by wearing a new dress that you made yourself! You will take a basic shift dress, finish it with couture French seams and bias binding at the neckline and armholes. You can add your own personal touch with design details … maybe pockets, a shirttail hem or a belt. This class is suitable for a novice sewer so if you are comfortable sewing a straight seam on your machine then this class is for you.

Miracles You Can Work: Alterations and Repairs

Are you the person in your home who has to repair and alter clothes? Here is the demonstration and discussion for you. Demonstrations include basic hems both hand and machine, how to shorten sleeves, how to sew on buttons, replacing a zipper in pants, working with stretch fabric and more. Basic theory on how much a garment can be altered will be covered. Bring your questions, paper and pen.

Sit and Stitch Pin Cushion

Make this fabulous project in one evening. There are pockets on both sides of this drapeable organizer. It will keep everything you need close while you finish your hand sewing projects. Learn how to make and apply your own bias binding. Come join Anne for a fun filled evening.

Tools and Techniques for Quilters: Beginner's Overview of Tools and Materials
Instructor: Anne
In this demonstration, discussion and hands on class, you will get information on tools required and materials needed for quilting and how to use them. Anne will provide tips on cutters, mats, rulers and templates. You will discuss machine use, feet, needles, thread, fabric and batting choices. You will practice using rotary cutters, mats and rulers and gain an understanding of the importance of machine maintenance. This is the perfect class to get you confidently started on your quilting adventure.

Tools and Techniques for Quilters: Free Motion 1
Instructor: Anne
The piecing has been done ... Now you are ready to quilt your project but you're not sure about free motion quilting. In this class you will learn how to set up your machine. Needle and thread choices will be discussed. You will put a quilt sandwich together then practice free motion until you are a pro.

Tools and Techniques for Quilters: Binding 1
Instructor: Anne
In this hands on class you will prepare 5 different binding samples. Not only will you get practice with the techniques but you will have the examples and instructions to refer to at home. Because precision in measuring and cutting will be emphasized, your work will be top notch.

"Move It, Move It, Move It" Free Motion 2
Instructor: Anne
Let's step it up a bit and do funky flowers, vines, hearts and feathers. You'll build confidence in yourself and in your machine as you practice your moves!

"Over the Edge" Binding 2
Instructor: Anne
Anne will teach you new techniques to add to your binding repertoire. There will be at least four methods including using your backing as the binding. There are many tricks that she will share as well.

Do any quilts have you thinking, "That's beautiful but it's too hard for me."? Make that last thought a thing of the past. Join Anne to learn different block construction techniques.

After this six hour class, you will have made friends with your serger. Learn how a serger works by focusing on basic theory which includes understanding tensions and choosing correct stitches.
